Pendant amulet in bronze representing the full figure of the good demon Pazuzu, nicely carved with extremely fine details of the body and wings. Loop at the top and on the back for suspension. Pazuzu was regarded as protector of humans, especially women in childbirth, homes and children against other demons.
Size: 4.4 cm L (including loop) - 1 11/16 inch
Material: Bronze
Culture: Near East, c. 900-500 B.C.
Condition: Small break to lower wings otherwise intact
Display stand included
Provenance: British private collection, acquired prior to 2000.
