Lot of 2 colonial banknotes from the Banque de Madagascar (French Madagascar), both printed by the Banque de France and part of the first colonial series with Greco-Roman allegorical designs.
1) 50 Francs ND (1948) — Pick P-38 (K.811b, B205), "Minerva and Science" type. Alphabet B.1155, n° 746, serial 28851746. Signatures Dejouany / Gonon. Size 175 × 120 mm. Circulated, with a pronounced central fold, additional folds, worn corners and light toning; no tears, holes, restoration or cleaning.
2) 5 Francs ND (1937-1947) — Pick P-35 (K.802b, B202b), classical goddess head ("Juno") type. Alphabet M.3213, n° 457, serial 80311457. Signatures Dejouany / Pierre Chaudun. Size 125 × 80 mm. Heavily circulated, with a central fold, numerous creases, softened corners, scattered foxing and a small ink spot on the reverse; no through tears, restoration or cleaning.
Both notes are genuine and ungraded (not certified). Grades given are the seller's own assessment based on the photographs, which form an integral part of the description. Combined, tracked shipping in a rigid sleeve.
