Large Gorham sterling silver and cut crystal claret jug, Providence, Rhode Island, 1890.
The tall crystal body is decorated with spiralling diamond-cut bands and fitted with a clear glass handle. The upper section, spout and large hinged cover are made of 925 sterling silver and richly decorated with repoussé and chased floral motifs.
The silver is marked GORHAM, STERLING, S641, together with the rooster date symbol for 1890.
Height: 31.5 cm
Diameter: approx. 12 cm
Material: sterling silver 925 and cut crystal
Condition: very good antique condition with natural patina and minor age-related wear.
Provenance: private family collection.
Accompanied by professional documentation.
