Seiko - Seiko 5 - Senza prezzo di riserva - 5139-7040 - Uomo - 1967

Seiko 5 DX Automatic 5139-7040 (1967) – vintage silver sunburst dial, 27 jewels, day-date, stainless steel cushion case, on a replacement stainless steel mesh bracelet. PLEASE NOTE: the dial shows dark, rust-coloured corrosion and flaking along its outer edge from about 6:30 to 8 o'clock, clearly visible in the photos, and the inner ring under the crystal has dark tarnish and pitting on the right side from roughly 1 to 4 o'clock. The bracelet is not original; it is a flat mesh-style stainless steel band with a sliding clasp stamped BEAR / STAINLESS STEEL, with a small rust-coloured spot on its edge near the 6 o'clock end piece and tarnish deposits on the inner clasp plate. The case has many hairline scratches and small dings, most noticeable on the right side and the upper-right bezel edge, and the crystal has light hairline scratches. On this calibre the day is not designed to be quick-set; the date can be set with the crown, but the day advances only by turning the hands through midnight, which is the original design and not a defect. Please check the photos carefully before bidding. Overview A 1967 Seiko 5 DX, the deluxe 27-jewel version of the Seiko 5 line, powered by the Seiko 5139 automatic movement. The silver sunburst dial carries an applied SEIKO logo and 5 shield emblem, the DX emblem and 27 JEWELS text, applied polished baton indices with black centre inlay, a wider double marker at 12 o'clock, a printed minute track and a framed day-date window at 3 o'clock with English day display. Polished tapered baton hands with a black centre line and a thin needle seconds hand; no luminous material. Cushion-shaped stainless steel case with a round stepped polished bezel, a semi-recessed crown at 4 o'clock and a solid screw-back marked WATER PROOF. Fitted with a flat brick-pattern mesh steel bracelet with tubular end pieces and an adjustable sliding clasp.
