Descrizione del venditore

Item Description
This is a cast metal bud vase produced in the Takaoka copperware tradition (Takaoka-doki), one of Japan's most celebrated centres for cast metalwork, located in Toyama Prefecture. The vase has an elegant teardrop, gourd-like silhouette with a long, slender neck that flares gently at the mouth, and a rounded body that tapers to a narrow foot.

The surface displays a striking graduated patina moving from a pale blue lip through deep indigo blue along the neck, into emerald green and near-black tones at the base of the body. This colour transition is achieved through traditional patination techniques applied to the cast metal surface and gives each piece a distinctive, painterly quality.

The vase is presented on a matching shaped wooden display stand with a rich reddish-brown lacquered finish, which sits beneath the vase and enhances its presentation on a shelf, tokonoma alcove, or entrance display.

Combined dimensions (vase with stand): height approximately 26.7 cm, width 22.5 cm, depth 17.5 cm. Total weight approximately 1545 g.

Condition
The vase and stand are in good, presentable condition consistent with careful use. No major damage or heavy wear has been noted; only light, minor surface handling marks consistent with age may be present, and these do not detract from the overall appearance.

Additional Information
Origin: Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Japan – a region with a centuries-long tradition of cast metal (copper alloy) craftsmanship known as Takaoka-doki.
Material: Cast metal (copper alloy) with graduated patina finish.
Accessories: Matching lacquered wooden display stand included.

The item will be carefully packaged and shipped by Japan Post or DHL, depending on the situation.

Due to the changes to the EU tax-free (VAT) system, Japan Post has become unable to ship certain goods valued at €150 or less to an increasing number of European countries. Depending on the destination and circumstances, the shipping method may therefore be changed from Japan Post to DHL.

Delivery normally takes approximately 3 weeks, or up to 3 months if the item is shipped by sea.

Please note that import duties, taxes, customs fees, and other charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.

For customs clearance, your local customs office or delivery company may contact you by phone or email. To avoid any delays or the return of the parcel, please ensure that you can respond promptly to any such requests. If the parcel is returned due to an inability to contact you or complete customs clearance, additional shipping charges, which may be more than twice the original shipping cost, will apply for reshipment.

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation. We will do our utmost to ensure that your item arrives safely and without any issues.
