About this camera The Canon Canodate E is a 1970s 35mm compact rangefinder from the Canonet family, with one unusual feature: a built-in date imprinting system that records the year, month and day on the negative, set with the dials beside the lens. It pairs a sharp Canon 40mm f/2.8 lens with automatic exposure and a coupled rangefinder in a solid metal body. Far less common than the Canonets it is based on, it is an interesting piece of Canon compact-camera history.
