MOSSY AWE Matted
Fine Art Photography Print by Inna Etuvgi
Image size: 20x30cm Mat: 30x40cm "Mossy Awe" is a macro photograph capturing a moss sporophyte in the forest of Huskvarna, Sweden. The sporophyte, bathed in sunlight, resembles a figure lifting their face to be kissed by the sun’s rays. This image highlights the beauty of undersized nature and reflects our own experiences, reminding us of the deep connection between humans and the natural world. My work explores the delicate balance between nature, humanity, and technology, focusing on the often-overlooked elements of the natural world. Growing up in the Arctic, where survival depends on sensitivity to subtle environmental signs, has shaped my deep respect for life’s fragile balance. Through macro photography, I magnify the hidden beauty in nature’s tiniest details, highlighting their vital role in sustaining ecosystems and challenging the human-centered worldview. Part of the "SAGOSKOGEN" collection, which translates to "Fairy Tale Forest," this print weaves together the magical stories hidden within the Swedish woods. The collection invites viewers to explore the quiet resilience and enchanting beauty of mosses, lichens, and other often-overlooked wonders, offering a visual journey through nature’s intricate narratives. With its vibrant, warm colors, "Mossy Awe" brings the serene atmosphere of a Scandinavian forest into any space. It’s an ideal choice for those seeking unique, nature-inspired decor or a thoughtful gift for nature lovers. Perfect for art collectors, nature enthusiasts, galleries, and curators, "Mossy Awe" combines the tranquility of nature with fine art, making it a meaningful addition to any home or office. PRINT INFORMATION * Medium: Giclée print on Canson Fine Art paper * Edition size: Limited to 25 copies * Details: Signed, numbered, and printed by the artist, with a Certificate of Authenticity * Mounting: Professionally mounted in a pH-neutral mat (passepartout) with archival backing board * Image size: 20 × 30 cm * Actual size: 30 × 40 cm ABOUT THE ARTIST: Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi art photographer whose work explores the delicate balance between nature, humanity, and technology. Growing up in the remote Arctic, where survival depends on sensitivity to nature’s smallest signs, Etuvgi developed a deep respect for the fragile ecosystems she now captures in her art. Living with Aphantasia—an inability to visualise mental images—Etuvgi turns to nature to reflect her inner landscapes, using her camera and digital art to externalise emotions and sensations. Through her macro photography, she magnifies the intricate details of nature's smallest elements, urging viewers to see their beauty, quiet resilience, and essential role in sustaining ecosystems. Her work highlights our bond with nature and challenges the human-centred worldview, reminding us of the interconnectedness of all life and encouraging a more mindful, compassionate relationship with the natural world. Beginning her artistic journey in 2020, Etuvgi was internationally recognised as a finalist for the Arte Laguna Prize in 2022 and received a grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee in 2023. As art critic Tabish Khan notes, “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
