Freiherr von Poschinger, (attributed) - Vaso - Vetro
The captivating vintage vase presented in this lot is a creation from c1970s of Freiherr von Poschinger glass factory from Germany. The story of the Poschinger family business is a fascinating one. In 1568, Joachim Poschinger acquired the run-down "Zadlershütte" glassworks in deepest Bavaria and restored the business to profitability. It was the start of the successful and unbroken story of the Poschingers as glassmakers and landowners. The 2,300 hectare estate supplies beech to make wooden moulds for the glasses. The family developed a forestry business to tide it over difficult times, such as those currently experienced by the glass industry in Germany. Most of Poschinger's glass pieces, including the piece presented in this lot share common features like the spectacular blue-violet iridescence and curled linear patterns connected through dot like formations. The detailed photos are part of the description and can be used as an accurate reference. Condition of this vase is excelent without defects, but just some regular use signs.
