De Onkyo TX‑8020 is een zuivere stereoreceiver met analoge focus, die 50 W per kanaal (8 Ω, 20 Hz–20 kHz) levert via discrete versterkerklasse en WRAT‑technologie. 
Hij biedt meerdere analoge ingangen (inclusief een phono‑ingang voor draaitafels), een FM/AM‑tuner met 40 voorkeuzezenders en een subwoofer‑pre‑out. 
Met zijn eenvoudige ontwerp, betrouwbare prestaties en toonregeling (bas, treble, balans) is hij ideaal als centraal element in een compacte of middelgrote hifi‑set.
