The original dial is very attractive; originally having a silver ground, hast turned patina orange gold, original blued steel pencil hands and 24-hour red military scale. The movement is working fine and keeping time correct manual winding caliber 59 movement is signed under the dial "ROLEX". . The 28mm gold-filled case with steel Oyster back which has a mark where someone has tried to open with the wrong tool it has been has original patina with wear to plating in places, This Oyster watch even retains the correct Oyster-patented winding crown. The Oyster series of watches were produced by Rolex and assembled in Canada to circumvent duties and taxes. These watches were marketed to Canadian soldiers going overseas to fight in WW2 and were sold at the PX stores. These fine watches were produced by Rolex for the Canadian market. Canada during WW2 and marketed to soldiers going overseas. The smaller case size made them less likely to be damaged during battle. Being a cushion shape, these watches look larger on the wrist than the round Oysters.
