11. ACCA XF+, Sendai Tsūhō from Japan's Edo Period, Iron Coin, ScarceSendai Tsūhō was a local currency minted in the Sendai Domain during Japan's Edo period with permission from the shogunate. It was in circulation from the 4th to the 7th year of Emperor Kōkaku's reign (1784-1787). The coin features a square-arc shape with a square hole, inner and outer rims, and the inscriptions in regular script facing each other. As it was a local currency, the quantity is relatively small, and given its age and the unique square shape, it is even more valuable. This Sendai Tsūhō coin is an example of the currency from that period and is a very rare and attractive iron coin. Its condition is exceptionally high for an iron coin, making it a must-have for collectors..

12. ACCA XF, Japanese Edo Period - Hakodate Tsūhō 1 Mon, Cast/Iron Coin, Scarce
Minted during the Ansei era of Emperor Kōmei of Edo (also during the Qing Xianfeng period) in Hakodate. It is said that iron was produced in Hakodate, so iron coins were cast, but their circulation was limited to Hakodate, Ezo, Matsumae, and surrounding areas. The obverse features regular script characters, read vertically, with elegant strokes, and there is also a variant with the year engraved on the reverse. The coin’s unique feature is that the initial cast had a round hole, but due to casting difficulties, it was later changed to an octagonal shape, which is rare in minting history. Today, iron coins are no longer common and are sometimes referred to as the "mother of iron coins." This Hakodate Tsūhō is an iron coin from the late Edo period of Japan, and it contains surplus iron from the casting process. It is a rare cast coin, so collectors who like it should not miss it.
