His original and unmistakable style is known as "Brussels style", because at the 1958 Expo in Brussels, Jaroslav Ježek received two very prestigious awards: the gold medal for porcelain sculpture and the Grand Prix for the porcelain coffee service. His Brussels style represented Czechoslovak design on a global scale
