To reproduce the beauty of music, this preamplifier pursues high S/N ratio and low distortion—the fundamentals of an amplifier. The flat amplifier section employs low-noise dual FETs in the first stage and uses capacitors in the NFB circuit that inherently generate no noise, achieving pure sound reproduction for all input sources. Furthermore, a quadruple volume control adjusts levels before and after the flat amplifier stage. This reduces noise levels by up to 16dB at low volumes, significantly improving the S/N ratio during actual use. A buffer amplifier is positioned immediately after every input terminal. This converts the input signal to low impedance, effectively eliminating interference from external noise sources. A Pure Direct switch is included, compatible with all input sources. When switched ON, it bypasses the tone control and balance controls, creating a simple, direct signal path that passes only through the input selector and volume control before connecting directly to the power amplifier. An MM/MC compatible phono equalizer amplifier is included. The MC head amplifier uses four low-noise complementary transistors to achieve high S/N ratio. Additionally, the MM amplifier employs two RIAA elements, among other measures, to ensure high precision. The insulators utilize a newly developed, high-density anti-vibration base incorporating glass fiber. This minimizes internal amplifier vibrations generated by components like transformers. Furthermore, mounting all parts on this anti-vibration base suppresses adverse effects from vibration. For ease of operation, a system remote control is included that can also operate Yamaha RS-compatible source devices like CD players. It allows power ON/OFF, volume adjustment, and input switching. Furthermore, by connecting the control terminals, the MX-1's power can be turned ON/OFF simultaneously.
