21.ACCA MS-65, 1832-1858, Japan Edo period - Tenpo 2-shu gold coin, rare high grade
The Tenpo 2-shu gold coin circulated for a long time, minted from Tenpo Year 3 to Ansei Year 5 (1832-1858). The Tenpo 2-shu gold coin met the demand for improved quality, being lightweight and easy to use for circulation. It remained in use until the Meiji period's currency reform. Generally, the currency issued during the Edo period had standardized specifications, making it difficult to produce counterfeit coins. Its shape is a rectangular short booklet style, and the coin features a fan-framed paulownia pattern at the top, making it a very finely crafted and beautiful rectangular gold coin. Moreover, this small gold coin has an exceptionally high grade of 65 points and features classic Japanese patterns. Collectors who appreciate it should not miss out.

These Ban Kin are historical Japanese coinage from the late Edo/early Meiji period. Their value is based on rarity, age, and numismatic significance, not on bullion content. These pieces were traditionally struck in a gold–silver alloy, and they are collected for their historical importance rather than precious-metal purity.
