A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Jo Baptista Ceruti Cremone fecit anno 1807. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some tears to golden amber varnish, small repaired cracks on the top, good rosewood set up, new bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent straight high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 585 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. The sound is very deep, rich, powerful, suitable for solo or chamber music. Shipping worldwide insured
