Età del Bronzo Bronzo Small Socketed Spearhead (Senza Prezzo di Riserva)
A small Bronze Age cast bronze spearhead, featuring a leaf-shaped blade and upward sloping shoulders. The blade displays a prominent central mid-rib that leads down to the spearhead's cylindrical socket, which widens at the bottom, into which a wood shaft would have been inserted. The socket is decorated with rows of short horizontal incisions and long incisions that are parallel to the midrib. Signs of wear as consistent with age, such as tarnishing, minor chips to the edges of the blade. Significant cracks and chips to the base of the socket.
In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the Western Asiatic area. Due to the nomadic nature of the tribes, none of the bronzes were of great size, since it was required for them to be light and portable. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Everyday objects are also found including pins and bracelets. Their artwork mainly comprises ornaments, vessels and weapons. Archaeological evidence suggests that the bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts.
