Thanks to Sputnik-1 and its numerous successors, we can see Earth as a planet in space. This set includes an embroidered patch, dedicated to the first artificial Moon, which was launched on October 4, 1957. The patch comes from the "Muzei Kosmonavtiki" in Moscow and is about 10 cm in diameter. The four original NASA photos are about 20 x 25 cm and were made during the space shuttle missions STS-26 and STS-29. Extensive explanatory text on the back of the photos. The photos are printed on Kodak Professional and made available by NASA Houston, Texas. Rare!
