Beschrijving van de verkoper
Pair of 17th-century polychrome wooden architectural columns – 62.5 cm – Antique church interior elements, southern Europe
Description:
A beautiful pair of carved wooden architectural columns dating to the 17th century. Originally part of an ecclesiastical interior, likely from an altar or architectural framework.
The columns preserve traces of original polychromy and gilding, giving them wonderful historic character and presence. The wood shows a rich patina acquired over centuries. One column has a small loss to the corner of the capital, consistent with age and use (see photos).
These pieces make striking decorative accents — perfect for interior design, framing artwork, or as sculptural objects on their own.
From a Belgian private collection.
Dimensions (each):
• Height: approx. 62.5 cm
• Width: approx. 8.5 cm (at the base/capital)
Condition:
Good condition for age with wear, minor cracks and restorations, and remaining traces of original gilding and polychrome. One column with a small missing corner. Please refer to the photos for a full impression.
Shipping:
Secure professional packaging. Worldwide shipping with track & trace.
Please note that we currently do not ship orders to the United States.
