This painting belongs to my new collection, called 'Song of myself', a series of large-format canvases from 2026. They are abstract landscapes that explore the vastness of inner universes, in resonance with outer galaxies. My references are abstract painters such as Pollock, Kandinski or Miró, as well as the photographs of outer space published by NASA. My training is more literary than artistic, and there is a stylistic device that has always fascinated me: synecdoche. It is the extended or restricted use of words, taking the whole for the part or the part for the whole. I apply this device to my pictorial creation, thinking that human beings, in their smallness, contain an infinitesimal part of the infinite expansion of galaxies. The landscapes are accompanied by words taken from the poem "Song of Myself" by Walt Whitman (1819–1892), that is included in his work Leaves of Grass. It is shipped rolled up to minimize damage and reduce transportation costs. Unique and original painting. Signed and dated by the artist. It is sent without a frame or border. The gallery photos are mock-ups to give an idea of how the framed painting might look hanging in different environments. Colors on the screen may vary slightly from the actual colors of the paint. The fabric may exhibit waves due to the different load of material. It is recommended to take it to a specialized place to stretch it well over a frame. ABOUT THE ARTIST Jaume Muñoz (Barcelona, 1977) is a poet, painter and photographer. In his work, he explores the expressive possibilities of abstract painting, placing himself at the crossroads of chaos and order. His painting process is based on free abstract improvisation. He began painting while living in Egypt, in the open painting workshops at the Townhouse Gallery, Cairo. He held his first exhibitions there in 2007. For years, he attended the summer art residency and auction sale at the Association Saint Henri, Castelnaudary (France).
