An exceptionally elegant French silver mustard pot, crafted in Paris around 1890. This charming piece reflects the refined historicist and rococo revival style typical of late 19th-century French silverwork. The baluster-shaped body stands on four stylised scroll feet and is richly adorned with repoussé floral and foliate decoration, framing polished cartouches. Its scalloped lid, crowned by a sculpted leaf finial, opens to reveal the original fitted glass liner, beautifully preserved. Fully hallmarked for 950 silver (Minerva head, Paris); the maker’s mark is partly worn but still visible.
