An attractive bi-folio salvaged from a Kashmiri Koran, containing the scripture from the final verses of the doctrinal Chapters 5, Al-Ma'idah (The Table Spread) together with the Surah (chapter heading) of Chapter 6, Al-An"am (Cattle) V.114-118 of Chapter 5 focus on the story of Jesus (Isa) asking for a table spread with food from heaven (the Ma'idah) and a subsequent dialogue on Judgment Day regarding the divinity of Jesus and his mother. Key themes are Monotheism (Tawhid): Absolute denial that Jesus or his mother are divine. Miracles and Gratitude: The miracle of the table was a test of faith. Accountability: Accountability for one's actions on the Day of Judgment. Nature of Prophets: Prophets are servants of Allah, not partners in divinity. It is written in naskh Arabic manuscript, separated by gold horizontal lines. Both leaves have full framed margins around the scripture ruled in colours and a thick band of gold. There is an illuminated marginal 'juz' to the right folio marking the 55th verse of the chapter. Multiple simple 'aya' in gold mark the individual verses and diacritical marking in red assist the reader with devotional guidance when reading he verse. This is a decorative and historical manuscript some 250 years old and in very good condition for its age. .
