The privately owned distillery on the Hebridean island of Harris has already achieved cult status among many spirits enthusiasts thanks to its popular maritime Isle of Harris Gin. In December 2015, the first new make spirit flowed from the stills at Harris Distillery. It is the first legally produced whisky on the island. The Hearach Single Malt is named after the inhabitants of Harris. For this 2024 release, ex-bourbon, ex-oloroso, and ex-fino sherry casks of varying ages were married together to create a rich character and complexity. The youngest components were aged for four years, but a large proportion of the casks used were already seven years old.
