Atget aspired to be an actor from his twenties until around the age of 40, but was ultimately dismissed from the theater company. He then aspired to be a painter, but gave up on that dream. However, his achievements were later introduced by American photographer Berenice Abbott, and his name became known worldwide to future generations.
