I continue my series “Nonconformist.” For me, this is more than just a sequence of works — it is an artistic exploration of inner freedom, of the human refusal to conform. Each piece in the series tells its own story, and together they form a collection of coherence and significance, representing a milestone in my creative journey. In this canvas, I sought to capture both fragility and strength — a young man with half-open eyes cast downward, frozen in a moment between dream and reality, detached from the outer world. His tattooed arms become a map of rebellion and freedom, while the gentle curve of his neck and the relaxed posture reveal profound vulnerability. The background is not a decoration but an equal part of the composition. Turquoise panels with red ornaments engage in dialogue with the textured white wall, assembled from strokes like a mosaic of memories. These ornamental motifs do not adorn him but underline his distance and separateness from the world around him. Technique and relief: I worked with acrylic paints, allowing the strokes to remain dense and tangible. The white background was created with a palette knife, so the surface breathes with light and air. On this relief ground of colored blocks, the figure rises as living flesh. The body was painted more softly, with smoother brush transitions, yet I deliberately left visible vibrations of the stroke on the skin to emphasize life, imperfection, and warmth.
