Description:
This work belongs to the iconic series of objects produced by Costas Tsoclis in the early 1970s, in which he playfully blurred the boundaries between representation and reality. The everyday image of a water tap is set into a plexiglas and styrofoam box, while an amorphous flat shape suggests a pool of water. Tsoclis’s objects from this period are regarded as precursors to his later installations and an important stage in his exploration of illusion, perception and materiality.
