Layers of Life explores the passage of time through the enduring presence of a flowering tree, its visible roots symbolising our foundations, experiences, and connections to the past. Set against a radiant golden backdrop and crowned with magnificent white blossoms, the painting reflects the beauty of growth, resilience, and renewal, reminding us that every stage of life contributes to who we become.

The use of metal leaf transforms the painting into a living surface, reflecting and interacting with changing daylight to create shifting depth, luminosity, and atmosphere—an innovative technique that has become a distinctive hallmark of Christine Bleny's artistic work.

Christine Bleny is a contemporary french artist living in the UK the past 20 years, whose work explores wildlife, landscapes, flowers, portraits and the emotional connection through bold compositions and luminous colour. She has been painting over 30 years. The use of her coloured metallic leaf which she is a pioneer is now become more and more popular. Her paintings combine elements of realism and abstraction, creating atmospheric works that celebrate the natural world while conveying a strong sense of positivity and wonder. Her work is an invitation to pause, feel deeply, imagine freely, and remember that creativity, awareness and connection still have the power to shape a better future.
During the early stages of her career, Bleny exhibited at the prestigious Art Basel, an important milestone that brought international exposure to her work. Since then, her paintings have been exhibited in major European art centres including Paris, London, Basel, Strasbourg, and Milan.
Her work has found homes with private collectors around the world. Among her most notable commercial achievements was the sale of thirty paintings during a single exhibition to a major Chinese corporation, demonstrating both the appeal and collectability of her work on an international scale.

Alongside her professional success, Bleny has generously supported numerous charitable organisations and fundraising initiatives through the donation of her artwork, reflecting her belief that art can be a powerful force for positive change.
Her paintings are held in private collections internationally and are recognised for their ability to combine technical skill, emotional resonance, and a distinctive artistic vision that celebrates the beauty and spirit of the natural world.
