His artistic practice spans for the last two years, a period of time in which he explored a huge variety of subject matters, ranging from modern expressions of classical themes of landscapes and still lives, all the way to contemporary issues, such as anti war manifests, national and individual identity, cultural belonging, deconstruction and reconstruction of classics and moderns, exploration of philosophical and psychological questions, social role and duty as an everyday mask, and many other subjects that open the way for human interconnection. His painting style is eclectic, often reflecting a fast-paced society where the only constant is change and becoming. Some recurring motifs in this artist's practices consist of military symbols, the Column of Infinity, clownish characters, masks and Romanian traditional symbolism. Each artwork of Adrian Scarlat is a trinitarian synthesis of artistic tradition, alongside zeitgeist's requests, while expressing the being of the artist.
