Japão. Munich 1972 Olympic Games Bronze Commemorative Medal — Taro Okamoto (岡本太郎) (Sem preço de reserva)
This is an official bronze commemorative medal issued for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, designed by the renowned Japanese artist Taro Okamoto (岡本太郎), one of Japan’s most influential modern artists.
The medal features a powerful, dynamic human figure motif typical of Okamoto’s expressive style and philosophy. The artist’s name “TARO” is engraved directly into the medal, confirming authorship. With a diameter of approximately 7 cm and a substantial weight of around 260 grams, this piece has a strong sculptural presence.
Taro Okamoto is internationally known for works such as Tower of the Sun (太陽の塔), and Olympic-related works designed by him are especially sought after by collectors of modern Japanese art, Olympic memorabilia, and sculptural medals.
This medal is preserved in a protective display case and is offered as a genuine vintage piece from the Munich 1972 Olympics. An excellent addition to any art-focused Olympic collection.
