Bishamonten, Kisshoten, and Zenshi Doji triad - Estátua Pedra - Japão

This is an exceptionally rare stone triad sculpture featuring Bishamonten 毘沙門天像 at the center, flanked by Kisshōten 吉祥天 and Zennishi Dōji 善膩師童子 as attendant figures. Stone sculptures of these deities are seldom encountered, and examples in which all three figures—Bishamonten, Kisshōten, and Zennishi Dōji—are preserved together as a complete set are extremely rare. The sculpture was created around 1926. As Taishō 15 corresponds to the year 1926, this work was erected approximately 100 years ago. It comes with a talisman from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple 成田山新勝寺. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is the head temple of the Chizan school of Shingon Buddhism. With Acala as its principal image, the temple is the center of Acala worship, where prayers for the fulfillment of wishes have been held for over 1,080 years through goma fire rituals. As a major center of Acala worship, it has been widely known by nicknames such as Narita Fudo and O-Fudosama. It is said to have been founded in the third year of Tenkei, in the mid-Heian period. It is one of the leading temples in Japan, with over 10 million visitors per year. Bishamonten is the guardian deity of Buddhism, and is known as one of the Four Heavenly Kings and one of the Seven Lucky Gods. He is the god who protects the north, and is also known as the god of war and the Buddha of victory. [Characteristics] He wears armor, tramples on evil spirits, holds a pagoda in his left hand, and a stabbing stick or trident in his right hand. He is said to bring good luck in competitions and happiness, and is a god who prays for good fortune, good luck, and prosperity in business. He is said to protect from worldly desires, demons, disasters, and misfortunes. He drives away evil with his power to drive away evil. [Belief] In Japan, he was worshiped as a god who bestows wealth and good fortune, and was eventually made one of the Seven Lucky Gods. He was especially worshipped by the samurai class as a god who prays for victory in battle. In ancient times, many warlords of the Sengoku period worshiped him.
