Kato’s artistic style is unique and his woodblock prints balance traditional Japanese imagery with a modern Japanese design aesthetic. The first edition of this design was published between 1990 and 2005. This is later edition printed using the original woodblocks from original publisher. Teruhide Kato after a successful career as a major contemporary kimono designer, began painting and creating woodblock prints in the mid-1980s, using his beloved hometown of Kyoto as his subject matter. Rich with architectural and natural beauty, Kato’s striking images capture the quiet magic of this beautiful city. Kato's woodblocks are beautifully hand printed on high quality paper in Kyoto.
