Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 IN the original box, when these shields were sold. The set is in a very nice field used condition, the set was shipped to the soldier (Durward B McCracken in may 1944) as a present for on the front! The box and bible are in good / nicely used condition; uncleaned and with a clear patina from the war, see photo's as they are part of the description. the cover has a beautiful patina. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina and has the text: ''May The Lord Be Witj You''.
