Tigela de chá - Yue Ware - Grés - Celadon - Jin do Leste

A Rare and Beautiful Yue Ware Celadon Tea Bowl, Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420 AD) H4.5; D. 8 cm Weight 115.4g This rare Yue ware celadon tea bowl dates to the Eastern Jin dynasty and exemplifies the understated elegance of early Chinese ceramic tradition. The finely potted body is covered with a soft grey-green glaze, now subtly altered by time, revealing natural mottling, kiln variations, and areas of gentle wear that speak to its long history. The form is restrained and quietly balanced, without strict symmetry, allowing the material and glaze to express their own character. The surface bears traces of burial and age, creating a tactile and visual depth that enhances rather than diminishes its beauty. Viewed through a contemporary lens, the bowl resonates strongly with the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi—an appreciation of impermanence, imperfection, and quiet simplicity. Its beauty lies not in perfection, but in the harmony between form, time, and natural change. Both historically significant and visually contemplative, this Yue ware tea bowl is a compelling object for collectors drawn to early ceramics and timeless East Asian aesthetics. A similar small celadon bowl from Eastern Jin dynasty in the collection of the Palace Museum, Beijing: https://digicol.dpm.org.cn/cultural/detail?id=a8a4648179e849d493cd1051e9f81125&source=1&page=16&lang=en_US Provenance: Acquired from a private collection in 1982, Paris Condition: Overall in good condition. The surface of the glaze leaves several small holes and a protruding sticky substance near the center of the bowl caused by the firing process. The bottom of the bowl leaves four areas of sand left over from the firing process. The above is consistent with the characteristics of the period of production. No restoration. Shipping worldwide, usually 14-21 days to deliver. The photo of proof of origin and certificate of authenticity will be provided via email.
