Artist Profile
Masao Oba (born 1928, Japan) is a Japanese printmaker who began his career in printmaking in the mid-1950s. He studied various print techniques including copperplate, lithography, and woodblock printing. From the late 1960s onward, he actively participated in major national and international print exhibitions in Japan, Europe, and the United States. His works were exhibited in venues such as the Rockefeller Center Gallery in New York and various museums and galleries across Europe. Oba received awards from the Japan Artists Association and is recognized for his decorative, symbolic style within postwar Japanese printmaking.
