Chinese porcelain famille verte hexagonal teapot –China- Kangxi period
On offer is a Chinese porcelain teapot in the famille verte pattern (wucai, 5 colors). The teapot has a hexagonal (6-sided) shape, a C-curved handle and a straight spout. It has a single hole spout opening on the inside of the pot, which indicates an origin in the Kangxi period. The teapot has an attractive famille verte decoration consisting of hanging flower buds, which are often mistaken for bunches of grapes. Nice trimmed foot rim. Very hard to find in this fine condition! Provenance: From the private collection of a deceased collector from North Holland.
Date: Kangxi period 1662-1722 ca. 1710-1720.
Size: This teapot measures ca. 13,5 cm from handle to spout and about 10,5 cm in height.
Condition: Very good to excellent! Only 2 very small original spots of glaze loss on the corners of the lid. Further no damage!
