In 2023, artists Ana Patitú and Jaume Muñoz met in their common studio space. What began as a coincidence of proximity soon turned into a dialogue between two visual worlds. They decided to collaborate on a series, where their distinct styles began to circle, collide, and ultimately fuse into something new. Patitú’s work, rooted in the exploration of the human figure (particularly female swimmers and the ethereal spaces of surreal swimming pools) encountered Muñoz’s abstract visions of nebulas and cosmic fragments. The merging of these two universes gave birth to a pictorial dialogue between the earthly and the celestial, abstraction and figuration, the body and the void. The central figure is Miss Supernova. Each work bears her name, as she drifts through dreamlike settings that become spaces of reflection, transformation and exploration. Miss Supernova is the star of a universe where matter and emotion blur, and where painting gives way to a space of infinite possibility.
