Conjunto de tigelas - Madeira - Antigo hinoki lacado com urushi

Item Description Antique Japanese Lacquer Soup Bowls Set of 5 – Washed Vermilion Urushi on Superior Hinoki Wood with Gold Maki-e Plum and Bird Motif (Meiji–Taisho Style) A refined antique set of five traditional Japanese lacquer soup bowls made from high-quality hinoki (Japanese cypress) and finished in an elegant washed vermilion urushi lacquer. Each lid features delicate gold maki-e decoration depicting a bird resting on a plum branch, a classical auspicious motif symbolizing renewal and beauty in Japanese culture. The bowls show a softly rounded silhouette and low foot characteristic of late Meiji to Taisho period lacquerware. Hinoki wood was traditionally used for luxury tableware due to its light weight, durability, and fine grain. Originally created for formal dining and ceremonial use, these bowls today are appreciated as collectible examples of early 20th-century Japanese lacquer art that combine functionality with aesthetic elegance. ⸻ Size Height: 9 cm Width: 13 cm Depth: 13 cm ⸻ Weight 229 g (per bowl) / approx. 1.15 kg total ⸻ Condition Very good antique condition. Minor wear consistent with age; lacquer and gold decoration remain well preserved.
