The grapes come from vineyards located in the northern area of ​​Montalcino at an altitude of 220 meters above sea level and partly from vineyards located south of Montalcino at 270 meters above sea level. In both cases the vineyards are on sandy-stony Pliocene soils and exposed to the south, south-east. The Riserva reaches its best expression a few years after bottling.
