Claus Mayrhofer BARABBAS (1943-2009) - Screenprint - handsigned and numbered, 1973

Claus Mayrhofer Barabbas (1943-2009). Screenprint on a silver background on heavyweight cardboard, 1973. Handsigned, dated, and numbered in pencil. Edition of 27 copies. Size: 63 x 46.5 cm Claus Mayrhofer Barabbas, an unconventional and bohemian artist of the Viennese avant-garde of the 1960s and 70s, co-founder of the legendary alternative jazz group "Masters of Unorthodox Jazz." His monumental painting "The Big Bang," rescued from the cellars of Vienna's iconic Künstlerhaus, remains a landmark of Austrian art. His scarce and limited prints are highly sought after. This example exemplifies an exotic Pop style with sinuous lines and a more serene color palette than the Fauvist expressiveness of his other works. Several handling marks on the silver area outside the main footprint, but in good overall condition. __________________________________ Professional packaging with all security measures. Fast shipping with UPS, CORREOS or SEUR (mainly with these companies) and with a permanent tracking number.
