An authentic Japanese iron tsuba (sword guard) crafted in the Edo period (circa 18th–19th century). This piece is a small-sized tate-maru gata (vertical oval form) guard in iron plate, featuring: High relief carving (takabori) Kaku-mimi ko-niku rim Single hitsu-ana The design depicts a refined rural Japanese scene: A countryside house beside a withered tree. A flock of birds in flight. A mist-veiled full moon emerging through drifting clouds. The composition captures the poetic aesthetic of Edo-period landscape sensibility — quiet, seasonal, contemplative. The iron plate shows natural age patina consistent with genuine Edo workmanship.
