In these two new works of the series “Frammenti”, the female face is deconstructed, cut, pierced by nervous lines and instinctive marks, as if the image never wanted to completely grant itself. A few essential elements remain: marked eyelashes, red lips, hinted profiles, expressions suspended between irony, seduction and challenge.
The two figures seem to speak without saying anything. One closes her eyes with an almost theatrical expression, the other shows her teeth in a more direct gesture, almost a sneer. It’s not only provocation: it’s a form of emotional intelligence, a way to tell the woman not as a passive image to observe, but as a presence capable of observing, judging and even making fun of the world.
The intense red of the lips becomes the strong point of the diptych: it draws the gaze, holds it and then makes it feel a little uncomfortable, as happens when someone understands you more than you would like. The black lines that cross the faces recall thoughts, scratches, inner tensions, fragments indeed, of identity, desire, irony and defense.
This diptych tells a living, imperfect, ironic and sharp femininity. A femininity that does not ask for permission, does not seek approval, and does not let itself be easily framed, poor us who still try. Two faces that smile, challenge and disturb with elegance, leaving the viewer with a simple but uncomfortable question: who is really looking at whom?
***
The series “Frammenti” explores the emotional strength of the human face through intense, fragmented and deeply contemporary compositions. The eyes, the lips and the facial details emerge among swift lines, overlaps and instinctive brushstrokes, creating images suspended between elegance and unease.
Each work captures a different emotion without openly telling it: the spectator is drawn by the gaze, but at the same time left free to interpret its meaning. The faces are never completely defined, almost dissolving among hair, marks and movement, transforming the portrait into a more emotional than realistic perception.
The delicate colors of the backgrounds contrast with the strong black of the graphic lines and with the bold presence of the lips and eyes, elements that become the visual center of the work. A series with a strong aesthetic impact, capable of uniting sensuality, mystery and modernity in a style immediately recognizable.
Here there is no perfect catalogue portrait. There is the elegant chaos of human identity, hidden behind a gaze that seems to appear and disappear in an instant.
