This is the first-ever vintage and inaugural release of Chryseia, making these bottles exceptionally rare and historically significant. Produced as a partnership between the renowned Symington family and Bruno Prats, former owner of Château Cos d'Estournel, Chryseia was created with the ambition of producing one of the world's great red wines from the Douro Valley.
The 2000 vintage marks the beginning of what would become one of Portugal's most acclaimed and internationally recognised wine projects. After more than two decades of bottle ageing, this wine is expected to display extraordinary complexity, with notes of ripe black fruits, cedar, tobacco, spices, truffle and balsamic nuances, supported by silky tannins and a remarkably long and elegant finish.
