WHEN WOOD LEARNS TO FLOW

Artist: Zelinda Studio
Country of origin: Portugal
Year: 2026
Edition: 1/5
Technique: FDM additive manufacturing
Material: Wood-filled PLA, a PLA composite containing natural wood fibres
Dimensions: 25 × 9 × 9 cm
Condition: New, in excellent condition

“When Wood Learns to Flow” explores the contrast between the apparent rigidity of wood and the softness of continuous movement. Its intertwined, ribbon-like forms rise from the base as though a solid material had temporarily abandoned its limitations and learned to move freely.

The sculpture represents transformation: the moment when resistance gives way to adaptation and something once perceived as fixed discovers a new way of existing. Its curves suggest balance, connection and uninterrupted growth.

Although its surface resembles dark carved wood, the sculpture is not made from solid wood. It is produced through additive manufacturing using wood-filled PLA containing natural wood fibres. Subtle variations in colour and texture are inherent characteristics of the material and production process, giving each piece its own individual appearance.

This sculpture is number 1 of a limited edition of 5. It is numbered on the underside and is supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist.

Zelinda Studio is an independent contemporary art studio based in Madeira, Portugal, creating original sculptural forms inspired by movement, emotion and personal transformation.

The artwork will be carefully protected and securely packaged. It will be shipped from Madeira, Portugal, with tracking.
