Heinz Knoke (1922–1991) - Man and Horse

Heinz Knoke (1922–1991)

"Man and Horse" (*Homem e Cavalo*).

Etching from 1964.
Hand-signed by the artist from Hanover.
Sheet size 47.5 x 60.5 cm; hand-signed in pencil.

A good copy, with some yellowish toning along the right edge of the plate and a few spots of foxing. Please see the photographs.

Heinz Knoke's style is primarily defined as figurative expressionism with a leaning toward abstraction—featuring an expressionist distortion that reflects the complexities of the human condition in post-war Europe.
