Tectonic Drift is a large black and white abstract composition inspired by geological movement, shifting strata and the hidden forces shaping the surface of the Earth.

Repeated hand painted lines travel across the canvas in changing directions, forming several irregular structures that appear to press against, overlap and displace one another. A lighter, winding passage cuts through the dense composition like a geological fault, suggesting tension between stability and movement.

From a distance, the painting creates a strong optical rhythm and an almost architectural sense of depth. Viewed closely, subtle differences in the thickness, shape and direction of the marks reveal the physical process of painting. These variations are intentional and preserve the human character of the repeated pattern.

The composition combines contemporary op art, geometric abstraction and organic forms associated with rock strata, tectonic plates and natural erosion. Its monochrome palette allows the rhythm, contrast and movement of the lines to become the main subject of the work.

The artwork is painted on unstretched canvas. The painting will be carefully rolled and shipped in a protective tube. It is accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity.

About the artist

Polish contemporary artist based in Warsaw. Her practice explores rhythm, repetition, colour and structure through hand painted signs and geometric divisions. Her work balances visual order with deliberate irregularity, preserving the individual character and physical trace of the painting process.
