Islâmico Bronze Anel - Medieval, séculos VIII a X d.C. (Sem preço de reserva)

Islamic Bronze Ring with Geometric Bezel – 8th to 10th century AD – 20x19 mm – 2.54g This finely preserved Islamic bronze ring features a square bezel intricately engraved with a repeating pattern of concentric circles, each centered with a dot. The geometric design, rendered with precision and symmetry, reflects the aesthetic principles of early Islamic art, emphasizing abstraction and pattern over figural representation. The use of repetitive circles may carry apotropaic (protective) connotations, a motif found in various Islamic artefacts from the Umayyad and Abbasid periods. The ring’s structure is simple yet elegant, with a flat band and a slightly elevated bezel. Its patina, a dark olive green, suggests long-term burial and stable oxidation, typical of bronze artefacts of the early medieval Islamic world. The absence of calligraphic elements or stone inlay aligns with everyday Islamic rings from the 8th to 10th centuries AD, possibly crafted for personal or protective use rather than elite display. • Material: Bronze • Dimensions: 20 x 19 mm • Weight: 2.54 g • Date: 8th–10th century AD • Condition: Excellent condition with stable patina; no restorations; light surface wear consistent with age. An evocative miniature from the early Islamic world, bearing the quiet strength of sacred geometry and personal devotion. Provenance: Acquired from an auction house in 2025, previously owned by a collector from the South of Germany, acquired in the 1980s.
