Império Romano Tardio / Início do Bizantino Bronze Pingente (Sem preço de reserva)

Ancient Bronze Pendant with Openwork Geometric Design Culture / Period: Late Roman to Early Byzantine, circa 4th–7th century AD Material: Bronze Weight: 5.1 g Dimensions: Length 25.4 mm; Height 20.2 mm; Depth 4.8 mm Condition: Very good ancient condition; intact with stable dark patina and minor surface deposits. Double-sided identical design. Description A finely cast ancient bronze pendant featuring a distinctive openwork geometric design composed of rounded protrusions radiating symmetrically around a central arched motif. The pendant has two suspension holes at the top, suggesting it was worn as part of a necklace or possibly sewn onto clothing or a belt as a protective amulet. Both faces are decorated with the same raised pattern, typical of Late Roman and Byzantine craftsmanship. The raised nodes and symmetrical form may have held symbolic or apotropaic meaning, serving to ward off evil or bring good fortune. The piece has a beautiful ancient patina with traces of encrustation, attesting to its age and authenticity. Attribution: This type of pendant is characteristic of the Late Roman to Early Byzantine period (approximately 4th–7th century AD). Comparable examples have been found in the Mediterranean and Balkan regions, areas where Greco-Roman traditions merged with early Christian symbolism. The robust form and dual suspension holes are consistent with amuletic pendants used throughout this transitional era. Provenance: Ex-private European collection, established in the 1980s . A provenance document and declaration of legal origin are available in PDF format upon request. Remarks A rare and well-preserved example of ancient bronze jewelry, displaying both artistic and symbolic value. An ideal piece for collectors of Roman, Byzantine, or Crusader-era antiquities. Comes ready for display or professional mounting.
