The decoration includes raised gilding and moriage (relief enamel). The base bears a red painted mark, written in Japanese kanji, likely reading “Kutani yaki” (九谷焼), meaning “Kutani ware”, followed by a potter’s signature — indicating it was made in the Kutani region of Japan, known for fine porcelain and detailed .
