An Islamic Ottoman/Bedouin style silver-metal ring. It features a raised circular bezel with a black hardstone intaglio showing a standing quadruped, possibly a roaring lion with its mouth agape. Its head is turned back to look behind, with its mane flying behind its head. The intaglio decoration served as a stamp or a seal, illustrating a protective symbol or the heraldry of the owner. The raised bezel is richly decorated with a beautiful floral motif on the sides. The ring band is also decorated with a wave-like pattern and connects to the bezel with two scrolling volutes. Good solid condition, wearable. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Minor chip to one side of the bezel's rim.
