G. F. Kordenbusch - 18th Century - Jarra - Faience

This lot features an large earthenware jug created around 18th century (circa 1750) in one of german city Nurnberg’s pottery workshops. Decorated in abundance with blue handpainted birds and stylised floral motifs, the jug raises from a robust foot consolidated with tin, wich elegantly sustains the middle part designed in parallel curved linear paterns suggesting the rotation movement. Ending by an pewter lidded wide mouth with a peak, its neck is ornated in circumference with lines and is gracefully connected to a twist handle. The glazed surface of this example has an impressive craquelure formation. Its base bears the signature "K" with three dots usually associated with one of the few notable artisans of the region: Georg Friedrich Kordenbusch (1731-1802). Condition of the jug is remarkably good, presenting no major damages or restorations (few minor dents on the pewter lid), showing minimal signs of use. Last three pictures can be used for signature identification and size reference (jug standing next to a medium sized similar piece). Dimensions: Height - 35cm, Base Diameter - 13cm, Mouth Diameter - 8cm, Weight - 1.52kg. Fast shipment with tracking number through international post or courier services. Objects are packed with extra attention for the safety of buyer.
