This picture shows the US 1953 series of $2 "Red Seal Legal Tender Note", and it is 2 consecutively numbered banknotes (serial numbers from A 05255282A to A 05255283A) Photo Banknote sequence number: 05255282-05255283, The core message of this banknote: Type & Logo It belongs to the "U.S. Legal Tender Banknote" (U.S. Note", the iconic feature is the red Treasury seal + red serial number (distinct from the green seal of modern Federal Reserve bills), which were once part of the U.S. monetary system and have now been gradually withdrawn from circulation as collectibles. Design details Obverse: In the center is a portrait of Thomas Jefferson, the third president of the United States, and on the right is the red Treasury seal with the words "THIS NOTE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE" printed on the banknote. Reverse (not shown): Printed with Jefferson's former residence, Monticello, his Virginia estate and one of the symbols of American culture. Edition and signature This edition of the banknote belongs to the 1953C subseries (judging by the signature: on the left is Secretary of the Treasury Kathryn O'Hay Granahan, on the right is Deputy Secretary of the Treasury C. Douglas Dillon, corresponding to the signature combination of the 1953C edition).
